Drive further along the coast to the south and you are treated to spectacular scenery. Or fly to Sicily or Sardinia for the true Italian island experience.

As Italy's capital, Rome is not to be missed. Immerse yourself in Roman history and visit the Colosseum or the Roman Forum. The buildings, sculptures and works of art throughout the city will leave you speechless. Make sure to also visit Vatican City, which is located within Rome but is an independent state. Need a rest? Grab an ice cream at Il Gelato di San Crispino, Rome's most famous gelateria, stroll through the Villa Borghese park and give your feet a well-deserved break with a plate of pasta in front of you.
