Shopping in Prague

For shopping in style, head for the streets called Na Příkopě and 28. Října. On these broad shopping boulevards, entirely free of cars, you’ll find over 200 shops and no less than three department stores. There is always a pleasant hustle and bustle here, and street musicians add to the lively atmosphere. While you shop, you can enjoy the architecture at the same time: the buildings feature baroque-style façades above the shop windows. Need a moment to recover from all that shopping? There are countless restaurants and cafés where you can grab a seat, relax and order a drink and a bite to eat.

"Charming narrow streets, historic buildings and picturesque squares make Prague a destination straight out of a fairytale."

Prague as open-air museum

Prague is a true feast for the eyes. There are almost too many attractions to count, and each one is more than worth a visit. You can explore the courtyards of the Prague Castle, stroll across the famous Charles Bridge, step back in time with a visit to the Old Jewish cemetery or check out the famous astronomical clock, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Can’t choose between all the fantastic attractions? In that case, hop aboard a boat tour on the Vltava river. While cruising on the river, you can take in a dazzling panoramic view of the city’s major highlights.

Going out in Prague

Prague is also known as the beer capital of Europe and is famous for its cheap, locally-brewed beer. Unsurprisingly, that makes it a great destination for a fun night out. And that should definitely include trying a real Czech ‘pivo’. But you can get a nice glass of wine or a cocktail here as well. From small cosy beer gardens to big nightclubs: Prague has it all. If you feel like dancing, head to Karlovy Lazne. This must-see club has five storeys, with different music played on every floor. Another noteworthy bar is Jazz Dock, located right on the banks of the Vltava. Here, you can enjoy a jazz concert every night while taking in a spectacular view of the river. Tip: sign up for one of the many fun pub crawls. That way, you can bypass the queues and discover the best bars in Prague. Na zdravi! Or in other words, ‘cheers’ to your new city break destination.
