Things to see and do

Lanzarote's volcanic past can be seen across the island. One of the highlights is Timanfaya National Park, where you'll find impressive lava fields, volcanic craters, and unique landscapes that look almost out of this world. Discover the power of the island's volcanoes through exciting geothermal demonstrations and enjoy the stunning views. With its spectacular scenery, Timanfaya is a must-visit and one of the most remarkable natural attractions.

Art and architecture

On Lanzarote, the work of artist and architect César Manrique can be seen everywhere. A great example is Jameos del Agua, a volcanic cave that has been transformed into a unique space with a restaurant, a concert hall, and a small saltwater lake. Another highlight is the Cueva de los Verdes, where you can walk through lava tunnels and experience the shapes created by lava and light. Thanks to Manriques, no high-rise buildings were built on the island, which has helped preserve its open and natural landscape.

Wine and local flavours

In the wine region of La Geria, grapes are grown in a very unique way, set within a black volcanic landscape. The vines are planted in small pits of volcanic ash and protected by stone walls against wind and drought. The volcanic soil gives the wines a fresh, fruity taste that is typical of the island. Visit a local bodega and taste the wine together with Canarian dishes such as fresh fish and goat cheese. A true taste of Lanzarote that you won't soon forget.
