Spend a day in Nicosia, the capital city

The capital of Cyprus is a special city that is certainly worth visiting. Nicosia is split into two by the ‘Green Line’, that runs from the east to the west of the city. On one side of the line is Cyprus, and on the other side there is the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. You can visit both parts but make sure to bring your passport. On the Cypriot side, we recommend a visit to the city of Lefkosia. Here you can shop ‘til you drop in large shopping centres or chill out in one of the many cosy restaurants and trendy bars.

Admire the Troodos Mountains

If you want to see the authentic side of Cyprus, hire a car and take a drive through the wonderful Troodos Mountains. But pay attention, you have to drive on the left in Cyprus! It only takes an hour from most parts of the island to get to the mountains, which have a peak of 1952 metres. Here you can hike in the fragrant pine forests and enjoy a variety of hiking routes with breathtaking viewpoints. In addition to all the wonderful nature, you’ll also find monasteries, churches and picturesque mountain villages. In winter, you can go skiing on the snow-capped Mount Olympus. It’s an exceptional experience!

Enjoy sun, sea and beaches

Cyprus is also a top destination if you want to spend a few days relaxing on the beach. It has many different seaside resorts, such as Paphos. This is the most touristic resort on the island and resembles a huge open air museum. It’s famous for its mosaic floors, ruins, and columns and is definitely worth visiting. Enjoy the sunshine and the crystal-clear water on the beach at Coral Bay or cool down with a refreshing drink in the friendly coastal village of Ktima. In Larnaca, you’ll find a boulevard surrounded by palm trees, beautiful beaches and a picturesque old town centre. Don’t forget to visit Larnaca’s salt lake!
