Discover the elegant city of Nice

The nice thing about Nice is that the Côte d'Azur is only a two-hour flight away. The largest city of the region, Nice is famous for the Promenade des Anglais. Stroll along this 5-km long boulevard and marvel at the impressive buildings and tropical palm trees. The beach and the sea are always close, so it’s easy to take a refreshing dip. You can also stay cool under the trees in the Parc du Château. From here you enjoy a breathtaking view over the city and discover the ruins of the Chateau de Nice. Worked up an appetite? Head over to the old neighbourhood of Vieux Nice for a salade Niçoise, the signature dish of this French city. The picturesque setting in one of the narrow streets with ochre-coloured houses will make it taste even better!

From a river gorge to a red carpet

Do you want to venture beyond Nice? It’s easy to explore the other highlights of the beautiful Côte d'Azur with a rental car. For example, head inland towards Les Gorges du Verdon, also known as the Grand Canyon of Europe. You will be rewarded with beautiful views along this river gorge. If you’re adventurous, it's also a paradise for rafters! Other things you must see by car are the colourful towns of Antibes and Èze. Or imagine yourself as a film star and visit Cannes. The annual international film festival has been held here since 1946. In the harbour, you will find a Walk of Fame with more than 140 handprints of the greatest film stars. Can you spot the hand of your favourite screen star?

"On the sun-drenched Côte d'Azur, the most charming towns and villages sit alongside fantastic sandy beaches: no wonder everyone wants to be seen here."

The opulence of the Côte d'Azur

The Côte d'Azur is of course also the region where the ultra wealthy have their villas and yachts. In Monaco, you can fully experience the glamour of the region. Monaco is an independent state, and the second smallest in the world. You will definitely be impressed by the royal palace and the marina. It's also hard to overlook the opulence in the seaside resort of Saint-Tropez. Here you will find fantastic sandy beaches, but the village-like ambiance and lively terraces lend Saint-Tropez an irresistible charm. Have you made up your mind? Pack your sunglasses and swimming costume, get on a plane and enjoy! Bon voyage!
