Discover the most beautiful beaches

One thing is for sure, you don’t have to fly to the other side of the world for pearly white beaches and turquoise waters. Love to surf? Then Playa de Sotavento, stretching over 5 km, is a real paradise. As for Playa de Esquinzo, it is perfect for a family beach day. From here, you can walk to Playa del Matorral, with its white lighthouse, the Faro de Jandía: this eye-catcher marks the southernmost tip of Fuerteventura. From here, you can enjoy an enchanting view of the island and the ocean.

The best sights in Fuerteventura

Are you ready to leave the sandy beaches of Fuerteventura behind? Get in your rental car and take a trip to the holy mountain of Monte Tindaya. The native inhabitants of the island have left rock paintings around the top of the mountain, which you can still admire. Or drive to the bustling capital of Puerto del Rosario. In the historic centre, you will find cosy cafés, restaurants and shops. Looking for an adventurous activity? Get on a jet ski, hire a boat or take a sailing trip around the island. And no worries, the fun is not only limited to the water. Take a jeep safari over the beaches, dunes and mountains of the island or visit the botanical garden in Lajita.

“You really don’t need to travel to the Caribbean to enjoy white sandy beaches. You can find them in Fuerteventura, the island paradise for sun worshippers and surfers.”

Take a day trip to Lanzarote

Discover the beautiful neighbouring island of Lanzarote on a day trip from Fuerteventura. The ferry from Corralejo, in the north of Fuerteventura, to Playa Blanca, in the south of Lanzarote, takes just half an hour. When you arrive on the island, you’ll immediately notice a completely different landscape. Explore the island’s black lava landscape, admire the work of architect and artist César Manrique, and soak up the sun on one of the pristine white beaches.
