Cross over to Lefkas

From Preveza, it’s easy to hop over to the neighbouring island of Lefkas. A floating bridge makes Lefkas the only island in the area that is connected to the mainland. The bridge is about 70 metres long. If a boat needs to pass, a portion of the road surface floats out of the way to make room. Pretty cool, right?

On Lefkas, you’ll find plenty of natural beauty with vast woodlands and a mountainous landscape. The island also features a number of must-see attractions. Like the lovely waterfalls in Dimosaris Canyon. At the highest point, you look 15 metres down the falls for an amazing view. The archaeological museum in the Lefkas city centre is also worth a visit. Admire the displays with excavated artefacts from antiquity such as jewellery, pots, ceramics and tools.

Preveza is home to a tangle of narrow alleys where the pavements and courtyards are cheerfully decorated with flowers and ornaments. The churches from the Byzantine era are also worth a visit. The Agios Athanasios church is beloved for its exquisite murals and lovely bell towers.
